2nd NATIONAL BIOCIDAL CONGRESS

 

Distinguished Attendants;

 

“2^nd National Biocidal Congress” will be held with the cooperation of the Ministry of Health, Ankara University and Akdeniz University on 17-20 November 2011. Need of living in a healthy and safe environment is always primary issue for the people. Even if the human health is provided individually, then unless there is a safe and healthy environment, it is not possible to maintain the individual life quality and healthy life. Experiencing the crisis regarding the environmental safety, being able to know and measure the previously unknown risks and factors through the developing science and technology reveal the need of which the struggling methods against the pests should be applied in a more conscious way.

 

As the living creatures and microorganisms that are naturally available in the open and closed areas, involved in our living areas, disturb the people, they bear the risk of contaminating disease. We have to struggle with the pests in order both to protect ourselves from the contagious diseases and to enhance our life quality. To this end, we use many chemical and biological products. So, those products are called “biocidal”.

 

In addition to the hand disinfectants or antibacterial products which we use individually in daily life, the chemicals that are used by the municipalities in struggling with the pests and the chemicals that are used in order to disinfect the potable waters are also biocidal products. The studies on managing the using and supplying of those products to the market are executed by the Biocidal Products Department of the Directorate General of Fundamental Health Services under the Ministry of Health.

 

It was required to organize the second congress which those studies were shared with the more participants and made them scientifically grounded during the first one in order to increase, share the knowledge and to make the recommendation about solution of such problems and to discuss them upon request of the participants. We hope to meet you in this congress which we intend to hold it through your participation.
